WVSSAC to honor football champions from 1970-1979 during championship weekend

The WVSSAC is calling on past football players and coaches who were part of championship teams between 1970-1979 for a special recognition on Saturday, December 6. The event offers a chance to recognize past champions and be celebrated for their accomplishments.

This unique opportunity is open to any players and/or coaches who were involved in a WVSSAC football championship during that era. The recognition will take place during halftime of the Class AA game that starts at noon where they will be announced to the crowd.

Those being recognized will receive free admission to the event, while guests will need to purchase tickets. To confirm participation, eligible individuals are encouraged to complete a short form.

The WVSSAC and the city of Charleston look forward to celebrating West Virginia’s football history with its past champions.
