Lincoln girls, Frankfort boys win Class AA The Health Plan Champions Cup for 2025-26

The WVSSAC has announced the Class AA winners of The Health Plan Champions Cup, recognizing the top-performing high schools for excellence in both athletics and academics. Lincoln High finished atop the standings for the girls, while Frankfort finished first on the boys side.

The Health Plan Champions Cup honors the leading boys’ and girls’ athletic programs in each of the WVSSAC’s four classifications. Standings are based on performances across a variety of sports, with points awarded for success in state championship events. Teams are also awarded points based on the previous year’s graduation rate.

Class AA Girls

Lincoln took the top spot with 684 points. The Cougars were state champions in cheerleading and finished runner-up in track and soccer. Lincoln added a third-place finish in cross country, a quarterfinal appearance in basketball and was a regional finalist in softball to add to its total.

Williamstown was runner-up with 486.5 points, highlighted a state title in track and runner-up finish in basketball.

Logan was third (395 points), followed by James Monroe (393), Oak Glen (392), Doddridge County (386), Weir (383), and Tyler Consolidated (381).

Class AA Boys

Frankfort finished first on the boys side racking up 783 points. The Falcons captured state titles in both football and baseball, and added third-place finishes in cross country and track. Frankfort was also a state semifinalist in soccer, finished sixth in golf, and advanced to the state tournament in basketball.

Doddridge County finished second in the overall team race with 684.5 points on the strength of state titles in track and cross country.

Williamstown was third with 579.5 points.
