2024 Girls Invitational Recap
Audrey Kerr of Bridgeport won the 2024 WVSSAC Girls Invitational at Woodridge Golf Club with a score of 70 (34-36), clinching the victory with an eagle on the 18th hole. The event, held in Mineral Wells, WV, featured a record number of participants competing in two divisions: the Championship Division and the Open Division.
Angela Yao of Morgantown finished second in the Championship Division, posting a score of 71. McKenna Armstrong from St. Mary’s placed third with a 74, followed by McKenna Knotts (Bridgeport) in fourth with a 75. Madilyn Buttrey of Williamstown finished fifth with a score of 77, highlighted by five birdies.
A three-way tie for sixth place saw Alexis Green (Capital), Scarlett Albertson (George Washington), and Kianna Garrison (John Marshall) each record scores of 80. The top eight finishers earned spots on the All-Tournament Team.
In the Open Division, Morgan Byrd won with a 9-hole score of 45, while Alicia Harvath placed second with a 47. Four players tied for third—Jayla Barnhouse (Midland Trail), Ava Campbell (Midland Trail), Rhianne Rudish (John Marshall), and Caroline Kendezerski (Morgantown)—all with scores of 49.
