“Happy Volley" Volleyball Referee Training Camp

Penn State University

May 23-25, 2008

For the first time, a PAVO referee training camp will be held in conjunction with the Penn State Happy Volley Girls' Junior Club tournament.  This professional opportunity will be in State College, PA from May 23-May 25, 2008.

A pre-tournament classroom session and meeting will be held on the evening of May 23.  Other classroom sessions are planned as well.

Camp participants will work both camp and non-camp matches on the first two days of the tournament (May 24-May 25). Officials will be paid for all non-camp matches.   On the final day of the tournament (May 26), campers may be assigned to matches; campers are encouraged to stay as long as possible on that day to watch as great players and officials demonstrate their skills!

The camp curriculum will focus on the officiating techniques needed to become a successful volleyball referee at a variety of levels.  The staff will be prepared to give feedback and answer questions regarding NFHS, NCAA-women, and USAV rules and techniques.

The registration fee is only $125 for this tremendous professional opportunity. Campers will be responsible for their own travel expenses.  Lodging will be provided for registered campers from May 23 through May 25.

More details will be available at the PAVO website (http://www.pavo.org/camps.htm), or by calling the PAVO office at 888/791-2074 - or contact the OTP Camp Director at OTP.camp.director@pavo.org.
