Dear Coach,

Congratulations. Your team or medallist has qualified for the WVSSAC High School Golf Championship. This letter has information that is essential for a successful championship experience.

The tournament is scheduled for October 7^th and 8^th at the Speidel Golf Club (Jones Course) at Oglebay Park in Wheeling, WV. In addition to the tournament itself, several events have been planned for the enjoyment of players and coaches.

A welcome picnic is planned for Monday, October 6^th at 7 00 PM at the Pine Room in Oglebay Park. Five players, or the medallist, and their coach are invited. Coaches bringing additional players or coaches will be charged $10.00 per person at the welcome picnic. Coaches will meet during the picnic and will receive their tournament packets. For this reason, it is very important that coaches and players attend the picnic. Lunch will be provided at the turn for players and coaches on both tournament days. Refreshments will be available on the course. Lunch tickets will be included in your packet. Range balls will also be provided for players prior to their tee time on both days. The WVPGA, State Farm Insurance, and the WVGCSA will give a commemorative bag tag to all participants. Pictures of the winning teams and medalists will be taken upon completion of the event and mailed to those respective schools.

A block of seventy-five rooms has been reserved at Wilson Lodge (in Oglebay) for teams and families at a discounted rate of $79 per room. Reservations for these rooms must be made by Wednesday, October 1^st . After that date, these rooms will no longer be blocked for the tournament. These rooms will fill up fast so make your reservations early by calling 304-243-4000 or 1-800-624-6988. Inform the reservations clerk that you are coming for the state tournament to receive the discounted rate. The Lodge is located approximately two minutes from the course.

Play will begin on Tuesday and Wednesday at 9.00 AM. This will be a shotgun start on both days. The driving range will open at 7:30AM. Coaches will be assigned to serve as markers or spotters. Coaches should bring a folding chair should you be asked to serve as a spotter. Markers will use a cart. A shotgun start will be used on both days.

A limited number of carts for spectators will be available. These carts will be restricted to cart paths only and must remain one-half hole away from the players. Carts can be rented for tournament rounds beginning at 730 am each day.
